WHAT THE BRANCHES REMEMBER
2025
Collected here and there over several years, primarily in Central Park and upstate New York, but also in Vermont, the branches form the starting point of this series. Dusted with sand, dressed with photographs of clouds printed on fabric, or grafted with petals, they take shape as open structures.
In What the Branches Remember, the branches form networks that gather whatever crosses their field of vision. As if they had watched the world pass by, they preserve fragments of what they have seen and give them material form. Here, they no longer bear leaves, but the memory of a cloud, a bird, a clear night, a blossoming, or a celebration. Each work thus retains the trace of something passing.
