DEEP SKIN

2015

I have lived in several countries before settling in the US.  My own family in France is made up of more than ten nationalities.  I have traveled in about thirty countries on five continents and consider myself lucky to have experienced so many diverse cultures.  Harlem itself is a microcosm of that global mix of ethnicity and tradition.  It has been my home for the last ten years and I have embraced it for its undeniable vitality.  My DEEP SKIN series of "sculptural collage" aims to celebrate the beauty and strength of Harlem's multi-cultural spirit.

This series has been presented for the first time at the Flux Art Fair and responds to the curatorial theme: “The 21st Century Artist is a Nomad”.
