On May 24, 1626 Dutch colonists acquired Manhattan

from the Native American people, the Lenape tribe. 

Inspired by the fabric and medicine wheel of the first inhabitants of Manhattan, I have created LINOUQ, a metal mosaic made of over 4,000 printed metal squares. 

From 2008 to 2012 I walked every street in Manhattan, from State Street to 220th Street, taking photographic details of walls along my route. This collection of photographs is used to create this photo-assemblage compiled of 4,170 printed metal squares that hang from a chain link fence of Thomas Jefferson Park. 
 

LINOUQ was selected in 2017 by NYC Parks and UNIQLO USA as a receiver of the Art in the Parks: UNIQLO Park Expressions Grant.
